This book is about the teaching that comes from the pen of the Italian mystic Luisa Piccarreta. She received it from the Lord Jesus Christ and wrote numerous books in obedience to Him and to the spiritual directors appointed to her.

Jesus gave Luisa the nine excesses of love when she was aged seventeen as a prelude to his teachings on the Divine Will.  This is the starting point – preparing us for the blazing light of the Divine Will teachings, which then follow.

Born in Corato, a town in Puglia, north of Bari, Italy on April 23 1865, it was clear from an early age that this little child was to spend much time hiding away in meditations and prayer. After many years of spiritual solitude confining her to obedience, she was able to write profoundly about her experiences and conversations with Jesus and Mary.

This book displays a healthy understanding of such, and is written with a unified voice that flows between the words of Luisa herself, the replies she received from Jesus, and the voice of the author, who ties this together in a way that is very accessible and can be easily understood.

With both absorbing and expansive explanations born from a clear understanding of the work in hand, the thirteen chapters deal clearly with many aspects, from an introduction to a healthy and balanced understanding of the gift of truly living in the Divine Will

AN INTRODUCTION TO THE GIFT OF LIVING IN THE DIVINE WILL

Derek Williams is a lifelong Catholic who had a powerful encounter with God in 1990 that changed his life quite dramatically. Originally from Birmingham, he now lives in Norfolk with his family, just a mile from the Catholic Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. Drawing from his knowledge of, and passion for, Scripture, the Catechism and Church teaching, he is now putting his hand to the written word. He prays the books will challenge, inspire and speak straight from the Father’s heart.

Derek’s favourite place is his garden poustinia where he spends precious moments in silence and solitude in the presence of God. It was in the poustinia where the inspiration and physical work of writing this book and many others in progress have taken place.
